The Original Anti-Xerox

Hello friends, I hope all of you are alright. Today, I am going to talk about an issue that I’m sure all of you can relate to, whether you consciously choose to accept it or not in front of everyone else. However, if you do indeed agree about what I will talk about in this blog post, then please feel free to send me a message via Messenger to let me know how many of you agreeJ.
Now, what basically is a Xerox? What is the first thing that comes to our mind when we hear the word? A photocopy of say, an important document or a piece of paper with something written on it. Basically, thus, we can define as a copy of something.
And thus, by the same logic, what is an anti-Xerox? Something which is original and not a copy. And therein lies the problem.
In the earlier times, when the world was relatively young, and the pastures greener than they are today (I’m talking about pre-medieval times), things were much simpler. Then, people, never mind which race or caste or creed they belonged to, were valued on the basis of their originality, creativity and the labor which they put in without allowing anyone to tamper with their work. That does not mean, that negative things like say, pretending to be what one was not or even say, cheating, did not exist but at least they were prevalent in much lesser degree than they are today. Then, men and women were very humble (exceptions to this personality type once more existed, in lesser degrees), down-to-earth, and preferred comfort over excessively fashionable dressing (except for when the occasion called for it, such as for parties or social outings) and so on and so forth. And also, apart from the people, the cities were much quieter, peaceful and contained a lot more greenery than can be seen today.
Now, let’s fast forward 11 centuries later, and bam! We now have a world which is faster, brighter and a thousand degrees more artificial as compared to the days gone by. Now, the world comprises of people who believe in being flashy, artificial, weak minded, deceptive, and possess a scheming mentality which they use solely to their own advantage and others’ detriment. Indeed, people today would rather kowtow before someone else if it served them, instead of maintaining their own dignity and keeping their head high.

And in such a world, today’s world, to be more precise; the biggest crime that one can commit is to be like their original selves, untainted and unchanged. In a world where everybody is prepared to sell their souls just so that they can fit in, being original can get one into serious trouble or if not that, can result in the isolation of that person from the rest of the world, as most of the world believes in being artificial and shallow and possesses a people pleasing personality, which implies their almost sickening willingness to compromise on their own values, principles and morals(it’s surprising how many of the don’t have that anymore or rather, at least in most cases, this rings true) and lick others’ feet. And that is where my sorrow lays my friends. Perhaps I am wrong to think this or believe in this, but for me, I feel like an original anti-Xerox at times. But then, don’t us all occasionally feel frustrated because of the stereotypes imposed upon us. That is, if one is a girl, she is expected to be slim, trim, pretty, vivacious, an extrovert who must know how to balance her social and private life, etc. I mean, why, can’t she be a quiet person who loves to read, does not like going out much, etc. Its pretty much sad how much is expected of them. They are expected to be models of perfection in all the spheres of their lives and if any of them so much as even slightly fail, then they are condemned by society as failures and given a whole lot of labels such as ‘sluts’ (failure to adhere to society’s accepted standards of dressing), ‘incompetent’ (failure to do a particular task) etc. And the almost laughable reason behind these labels? Because they dared to be themselves. I say shame upon you(who expect perfection and give labels) all for expecting perfection in all spheres and shaming originality. In fact’ it is all of you who should be ashamed because all of you are too cowardly to be your true selves, however good or bad those selves might be. Well, my friends, that is all, I hope all of you like what I have written (or not, as all of you have the freedom to like or not to like). Stay tuned to my blog for regular updates. Good evening and have a great time ahead!
