An Ode to the Heroes of 2020

 

A short note to all those doctors who leave their homes every day, so that we are able to stay inside our own,

A short note to all those people, nay heroes, who willingly suffer bruises and scars on their faces borne out of suffocation, so that we may breathe,

A short note to those who smilingly forgo their comfort, so that we may cushion our lives,

A short note to all those who willingly place their lives in mortal danger, so that we may remain safe behind closed doors,

A short note to all those people, for whom no number of short notes will ever be enough to commemorate their valor, their sacrifices, and their spirit,

For doughty are they, endowed with skill and the ability to heal,

Laying down each malaise by its own heel,

Beyond description are they, these living Gods in their variegated garbs of colors ranging from green to white, warriors serving Life itself are they, never shall they give up this fight
