Friendship
- by Pratyush Parashar Das
"Friends.
They make us, they break us, sometimes annoy us, and yet, we wouldn't have it any other way." - Me
For true friendship is like Moonlight that guides travellers through the darkness,
Standing steadfast through all hurdles, like an ancient mountain fastness,
It is the elixir which makes even immortality blush, sweetening the taste buds of our life, as new blossomed followers in a valley lush,
It is the sword that guards our heart, and beheads the agents of darkness and chaos, as did once the Titan God Helios,
It is the steady hand on our shoulder reminding us that we aren't alone, lending us courage to take on even the fiercest cyclone,
True friendship is like the first sip of sweet milky tea in the rain against the backdrop of mountainous thunder,
And endures like the craggy rocks that dot the world's beaches, though many a wave has tried to make them asunder,
It is the amalgamation of happiness rich and laughter loud,
Like the deep throaty roar of the lion proud,
And ere I go, I would like to thank all those friends who made our life brighter, for they reminded us in our darkest moments that in each of us lies a fighter.
Dedicated to all those friends whose strength, and light made our heavy days lighter.
