Happy Bijaya Dashami
-by Pratyush Parashar Das
As She leaves for Her abode, the lights grow dim, and our hearts heavy,
For we know that the sounds of celebration must now stop, from the beats of the dhaks, to the clang of the brass bells; such a heavy tax does this realisation upon us levy,
We gaze at the sight of the empty pandals, now appearing shrunken without the Aura of Her presence,
With unspoken words trying to break from the lament of our emotional prison, but fading like wisps of smoke bowing down to the certainty of effervescence,
But even as the streets go quiet, and silence reigns in every corner, a thought keeps alight the flame of happiness in our hearts,
That again next year shall She with all her children return, to the ethereal intonation of Birendra Krishna Bhadra's Chandipath, and the sounds of the dhaks and brass bells, for a Mother never truly from her children parts,
And so armed with this knowledge, do we bid adieu to our Universal Mother, seeking her blessings to continue fighting against the myriad forms of Darkness,
Fortifying ourselves with Positivity, Hope and Valour, which but form the foundation of our very own emotional fastness.
Wishing everyone a happy and auspicious Bijaya Dashami _/\_. May the Goddess's victory over Darkness grant you all the courage to battle your own.
