Men-tal Health?

 - by Pratyush Parashar Das

We smile our way in the face of despair, as if it doesn't affect us, since the world says we shouldn't care

We work ourselves to the bone, because of society's expectations, since ours is to do and die, ours isn't to reason why,

We carry invisible weights beyond what the eye can see, which crush our shoulders, and burden our soul with the weight of a thousand boulders,

We are the warriors who don't receive any recognition for our services, but ultimately wear our sacrifices like a burnished medal,

For we are that species who despite everything persevere, even as we spiral into madness due to the metaphorical weight of the years lived beyond count,

Which make us experience the essence of immortality,  and so onwards do we forever move, with our weary sights on the future, as our feet on the bicycle of Life forever pedal.

Dedicated to all of the silent warriors. Sending you lots of strength and positivity, my brothers.

Happy International Men's Day!
